About Auburn State Recreation Area

Auburn State Recreation Area (Auburn SRA) covers 40-miles of the spectacular canyons of the North and Middle Forks of the American River. These canyons, which were once the home of 19th century gold miners and the Maidu people, are now preserved for rafting, hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, camping, mountain biking, horseback riding, gold panning, and motorcycle riding.
